The CNI Polarimeter Group develops, maintains and operates polarimeters
in the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) complex. These include
the AGS polarimeter, the pC polarimeter in RHIC and the polarized H-jet
target, also in RHIC. In addition to providing polarization measurements
that are essential to the RHIC Spin Program, the polarimeters also make
it possible to measure single and double spin asymmetries in the √s
regimes accessible at RHIC. These data are useful in understanding the
spin dependent hadronic contribution to the transverse asymmetry.
The Department of Energy's Brookhaven National Laboratory conducts research
in the physical, biomedical, and environmental sciences, as well as in energy
technologies. Brookhaven also builds and operates major facilities available
to university, industrial, and government scientists. The Laboratory is
managed by Brookhaven Science Associates, a limited liability company founded
by Stony Brook University and Battelle, a nonprofit applied science and
technology organization.
