Title: Electromagnetic Probes at RHIC-II Speaker: Gabor David Affiliation: Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) Abstract: We will review what has (and what hasn't) been learned so far about the sQGP using real and virtual photons. Electromagnetic probes offer unique opportunities to gain insight into the evolution of the colliding system and to study medium properties, but they also pose serious challenges to the experimentalist, and typically photon measurements are limited in their precision by systematics rather than by statistics. However, we will argue that the increased luminosity of RHIC-II will give a major boost to the study of electromagnetic probes as well. In light of and extrapolating from the latest results we will discuss what new opportunities will open up and outline strategies to establish microscopic matter and transition properties.
