α Source Calibration History for FY04 Run

The alpha calibration runs were taken with no beam in the AGS. The calibration constant is given by the α energy (5486 keV) times the attenuation factor (14 dB for most runs) divided by the mean of a gaussian fit to the ADC distribution.

Plots:
  • α calibration constant vs. run
  • relative increase in calibration constant between intial and final measurement. note: run 90004 used different attenuators and is not used in this plot.

  • Conclusions:
  • α calibration constants increased slightly over the course of the run, 1.4% for the first set of detectors and 6.3% for the second set.
