OTOOLS is a loose collection of online related tools, that were written over the course of the last couple of years as part of the development of the PHENIX online system. Its purpose was to separate tools that were developed as part of the DD package into a separate package, such that they could also be used without the DD package. Most of the code is related to online, but some of the code can also be used in an offline mode.

As such the package does not contain any important main programs. However a set of test programs were added, that demonstrate the use of the tools. These test programs are all named test_package_xxx.cc all in
